Malawi Develops National Cyber Security Strategy

Malawi has moved closer to its first ever national cyber security strategy, a feat boosted by the recent signing into law of the E-transactions and Communications Bills by the President.

The development of the strategy is being facilitated by the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) with policy direction by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology while the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra)   acts as the Secretariat.

The CTO has been facilitating the project from June, 2016 when a maiden meeting was held with various ICT players leading to the formation of various working groups on developing the cyber security strategy.
