Administration mandated with providing logistical support services in order to enhance the smooth operation of the Department.

1. Human Resources Management

Mandated with staff recruitment and placement, separation and interpretation of the Terms and Conditions of service for the members of staff in order to enhance the smooth operation of the ministry as well as undertaking training needs assessment and facilitating the training of officers who require the same in order to create an up to date and well-educated workplace for the smooth operation of the Department.

 

2. Research and Planning

The Research and Planning section prepares the DEpartment’s operational and implementation plans. It coordinates with other sections on formulation and preparation of annual plans and budgets. It also provides monitoring, evaluation and review services of the plans and budgets in addition to collection and analysis of statistical data relating to plans.

3. Procurement

Mandated to carry out all procurement and commodity and equipment storage functions as well as managing procurement plans and bidding documents.

4. Accounts

Mandated with providing financial support to the Department in order to enhance smooth operation of the department.

5. Internal Audit

Internal Audit Unit is an essential management tool that appraises internal control systems and the utilization of an organization`s financial and material resources.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Unit is to provide independent appraisal of internal controls and adherence to systems and procedures.

FUNCTION

To achieve its purpose, the units carry out the following function:-

  1. The conduct of audits
  2. The updating and reviewing of resources control systems
  3. The provision of audit advisory services

6. Registry

It is responsible for records management.  Its objective is to implement and maintain an efficient and effective records management system for improved accessibility to information for decision making.
