NLGFC Board chair Commissioner Richard Chapweteka has asked councils to implement iconic, tangible and complete development projects to transform the Local landscape in Malawi.

Chapweteka said this during a quarterly coordination meeting and engagement session with Local Authorities in the southern region.

Chapweteka said piecemeal projects by councils will be rejected. He said a lot of resources are getting to councils and this should begin showing on the ground.

He also warned procurement officers against fraud in procurement.

The session will also enable the Ministry of Local Government to provide policy directions for enhanced service delivery in all councils.

Participants include District Commissioners, Council Directors, National Registration Bureau, Anti corruption Bureau and others.

The engagement was opened by Deputy Minister of Local Government Honourable Halima Daud M.P.
